Project Development of a heart-on-a-chip model for disease modeling and toxicity screening
Andreia (1996) started her Integrated Master on Bioengineering in 2014 at the University of Porto, Portugal. She joined INEB/I3S Nanobiomaterials for Targeted Therapies group as a research trainee, where she initiated the establishment of a fungal model, U. maydis, as a simple, accessible, high-throughput platform for mechanistic studies and to screen for compounds that can enhance axonal growth.
In the beginning of 2018, she started working as an intern at the Applied Stem Cell Technologies (AST) group at the University of Twente, helping to develop a heart-on-a-chip model for disease modeling and toxicity screening.
