The aims of the internships follow logically from the goals of the general programme i.e. gaining competencies in medical-technical treatment and professional conduct. Thus:
•The Technical Physician will be capable to apply medical technology during diagnosis and treatment based on the integration of knowledge, skills, planning, and reflection, all focussing on innovation.
•The Technical Physician will have a personal working approach (expressed in word, behaviour, and appearance), which expresses the standards and values of his/her profession.
Each period of internship has specific aims:
•Increasing medical and technological knowledge within a selected profession and in a context where the relevance for clinical practice is the determining factor.
•Increasing communication skills, directed towards specific patient populations.
•Application of knowledge and skills to ensure that technology is optimally applied to solve technical medical problems.
