VoxVote voting tool
Lecturers who want to conduct a live opinion poll can use the tool VoxVote. The main tool recommended at the UT (Shakespeak) is a PowerPoint plugin that works on PCs only, so it is not for everyone. VoxVote is web-based, and you can create polls for audiences of unlimited size. This is a special offer for education-related use that has been valid ever since 2014, and may be extended again in spring 2018.
The tool is available from www.voxvote.com. You can create multiple choice questions and open questions (which you can choose to display in a word cloud). A timer can be included beside each question. Students enter a PIN at a URL and can vote from any device. After the session, the data can be downloaded and students can choose to receive an overview report via email.
It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the program through one of their videos:
Accounts can be created on their website. Make sure to use your @utwente.nl email address in order to receive the benefit of the free unlimited polls for education. If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
