TOPFIT is a large-scale collaboration of academic universities, universities of applied sciences, hospitals, and mbo (senior secondary vocational training) institutions in the Provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel. In this collaboration, 8 permanent partners combine their strengths in the field of prevention and health improvement in the East of the Netherlands.
The core of TOPFIT consists of the following partners: the University of Twente, Saxion University of Applied Sciences, HAN University of Applied Sciences, ROC van Twente (the Regional Community College of Twente), Landstede MBO and the hospitals Rijnstate, MST and ZGT.
TOPFIT's mission is to prevent diseases and improve people’s health. A meaningful way to achieve this is by sharing new and existing knowledge in this area and jointly organising activities in the East of the Netherlands.
The partners are already actively engaged in preventing disease and promoting health, such as setting up a ‘health forum’, developing apps for home diagnosis, or promoting exercise programmes. These are good initiatives that can easily be extended to the other partners.
In short, within TOPFIT, we want to inspire and learn from each other, share our success stories and increase our activities as much as possible. Moreover, we aim to think of solutions and implement them. That is why the TOPFIT partners not only seek collaboration with each other, but also with municipalities, entrepreneurs, and like-minded local and regional networks.
