The Call for Abstracts and Registration are now open for the TechMed Research Day 2026, which will take place on 16 April 2026 at the TechMed Centre on the campus of the University of Twente. This live, one-day event brings together researchers, staff, and master’s students working within the MedTech and HealthTech domain for a day focused on connection, knowledge sharing, and jointly shaping the future of the TechMed Centre.
An interactive, co-creation and inspirational programme
The 2026 edition of the TechMed Research Day places a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing, interaction, and co-creation. The programme features an inspiring scientific component, including both oral and poster presentations by young researchers from across the TechMed Centre. These sessions offer insight into ongoing projects and interdisciplinary collaborations, providing researchers with the opportunity to share their work with a broad, interdisciplinary TechMed audience.
The programme also includes an interactive session that encourages participants to view familiar themes from a new perspective and explore different ways of thinking and collaborating. Throughout the day, participants can join small-group discussions at themed tables on various topics in medical technology and research, led by experts and designed to foster in-depth exchange and networking. Towards the end of the programme, an inspiring keynote speaker will take the spotlight in a dedicated session, providing reflection and inspiration and leading into the award ceremony. Senior researchers and other involved colleagues from the University of Twente are invited to actively contribute to a session focused on further developing the interdisciplinary structure of the TechMed Centre.
Call for Abstracts: Submit your oral or poster abstract now
The Call for Abstracts is open for oral and poster presentations, designed as a training ground for younger researchers, including PhD candidates, early-stage postdocs, and master’s students conducting research within a TechMed Centre group. Poster presentations will take place in moderated poster tours, while oral presentations will consist of a short lecture followed by discussion. Both types of presentations should be accessible to a broad, interdisciplinary TechMed audience. The poster gallery will remain open throughout the day for further discussion and interaction with the wider TechMed community. At the end of the day, awards will be presented for the best oral presentations, the best poster pitches, and the poster with the strongest valorisation potential.
Your opportunity to connect and explore
The TechMed Research Day brings together the entire internal TechMed Centre community, from researchers and colleagues within the various departments to other interested professionals active in the MedTech and HealthTech domain at the University of Twente. This is a unique opportunity to meet colleagues, engage in conversations, exchange ideas, and gain new perspectives. You can connect with senior researchers, explore the services and support offered by the TechMed Centre, and discover ongoing projects across disciplines. Whether you are presenting your own work or joining the sessions and discussions, this day offers inspiration, networking, and insights that you won’t want to miss.
