Early business development bootcamp

Do you have the ambition to take your research to the market? Or are you still wondering whether valorization is something for you or your research? Novel-T organizes periodically the early business development bootcamp. The bootcamp is meant for researchers with a great technology that wants to transform a technological idea into a business idea. Or at least test the feasibility and potential of the technology. The bootcamp is often used as a preparation for a (business-driven) grant or investment proposal.

The bootcamp

Over a period of about a month, the researchers spend 4 days in the bootcamp. The first day is plenary and meant to provide you with a lot of information about business models, pitching, financing and intellectual property. Days 2 & 3 are there to coach you individually/ per team on the creation of your business model or business plan. During the lunch on these days, a presentation will be held on topics like market research, Take Off/ grant programs or investors. The final day (4) is about pitching, we will end with a Dragon’s Den for the business development team of Novel-T. At the start of the final day, we will practice and optimize the pitches.

Practicalities

The bootcamp is organized by Novel-T and will be held at Novel-T and/ or the campus. We have experienced and professional trainers eager to bring your technology to the next level. It is free for enthusiastic and motivated researchers. We expect from you commitment to- and participation in the program. If you are interested in joining the next bootcamp, please send an e-mail to Roy Kolkman (r.kolkman@novelt.com).

And after the program?

We don’t expect that every researcher will start a spin-off or commercialize the research. Please bear in mind that it also possible to be the technical/ scientific advisor on the team. However, with the introduction of the business development team in the final (Pitching) Day, there is the opportunity to take the next step in your business career.
