The 'TechMed Living Lab' (in Dutch 'TechMed Proeftuin') is an open innovation landscape that aims to improve the medical impact and speed up the economic return of new healthcare concepts and products. By sharing the state-of-the-art medical simulation facilities of the Experimental Centre for Technical Medicine (ECTM) of the University of Twente as Living Lab and the expertise of the TechMed Living Lab partners (University of Twente, Holland Innovative, Panton, Unitron) we aim to boost the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of medical innovations. The TechMed Centre is leading the European initiative of a Digital Innovation Hub on Robotics in Healthcare (DIH-HERO), as a joint effort with the Digital Society institute. This DIH-HERO network stimulates the coordination of, and access to, services and facilities to bring robotics to the healthcare domain.
