Repligen Krosflo

The Repligen Krosflo® transport study device is used to research the transport of small molecules through hollow fiber membranes. The set-up consists of two peristaltic pumps, a Krosflo® KR1 and a KR2i, both with a maximum speed of 600 rpm. Two laboratory balances keep track of solution masses in the reservoirs, and three pressure sensors allow for a constant overview of pressure increase during the experiments. All of these are connected to the Repligen control panel for accessible parameter tuning. There are two Repligen systems available, Repligen 1 and Repligen 2, both of which are used for transport studies of toxins through hemodialysis membranes. In addition, a shaker platform can be used instead of the balances to avoid sedimentation in solutions. Both systems are available in lab ZH282.
