Pioneers in HealthCare award ceremony

Within the Pioneers in Health Care (PIHC) Innovation Fund, the University of Twente, Saxion, Medisch Spectrum Twente, ZiekenhuisGroep Twente and Deventer Hospital have a mutual goal: faster introduction of innovative technology in clinical practice. The Pioneers in Healthcare Innovation Fund pioneers both by developing new technology for clinical problems, and by exploring the possibilities to use existing technology for new medical applications.

On Monday 19 January 2026, from 17:00, ZGT will host the PIHC Award Ceremony at the Asito Stadion in Almelo During this event, 10 "Technological pioneering in healthcare" and "Applying technology in healthcare" vouchers will be awarded. All applicants will be anxiously waiting whether their proposal will win a voucher.

With the innovation fund, the University of Twente, MST, ZGT, Deventer Hospital and Saxion are promoting bottom-up collaboration between the world of new technologies and medical practice with a view to facilitating the introduction of innovative technology in the clinic.
Technical solutions to overcome limitations in the current health care, or new medical applications of existing technology, that’s what’s Pioneers in Healthcare is all about.
