Remke Burie graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Twente and specialized in biomedical mechanical engineering. He obtained his MBA at TiasNimbas Business School. He contributed to the development of the unique Technical Medicine program and the related research program in collaboration with the MIRA Institute. He initiated the Experimental Centre for Technical Medicine, a state-of-the-art simulation centre focusing on the growing role of technology in medicine with users ranging from students, medical professionals, researchers and companies.
He is managing director of the Technical Medical Centre of the UT. He is involved in the development of multiple research & innovation projects. He is part of the management team of the EU network of digital innovation hubs focusing on healthcare robotics and member of the steering committee of MedFit. He is always looking for new opportunities, driven by a continuous focus on enabling innovation in healthcare by technology.
