NEW BEGINNING
We are excited to announce that our summer school is in the process of repositioning and rebranding. This change will require us to cancel CuriousU summer school 2023, but we are incredibly proud of our progress and look forward to offering a refreshed and improved program in the near future. We thank all our students and staff for their support and look forward to continuing to serve our community.
Want to be able to make an impact or improve your skills in doing so?
Do you want to leave your mark? Do you want to learn what change is and be able to identify opportunities for change? Are you ready to lead in times of crisis? Throughout this course, you will discover and develop your ability to execute viable change, through developing a skill set of relevant tools. We will help you learn how you can become a change agent and leader of innovation and impact. Within an interactive educational setting and through workshops, you will develop skills for your future and master the art of executing change with peers from all over the world.
With changes happening around us every day, we need to be able to deal and cope with these situations in order to thrive. Problems are becoming more and more complex as technology is rapidly evolving, which requires a different approach to thinking, identifying, designing, and implementing solutions to these complex problems. Not only is learning these skills important but being able to effectively teach these skills to other people and spread the message might be even more crucial. This course offers you a series of sessions that address not only the skills required to recognize and execute viable change, it will also teach you the ins and outs of design thinking that will allow for a step-by-step process of approaching complex projects and problems.
The Leaders of Innovation and Impact course will be a 10-day, student-driven experience of a lifetime! This UIF Meetup is organised as part of CuriousU, a European Summer School with an international taste. Can't wait for August 2022? Get even more excited with the after movies from the last two meetups in 2018 and 2019!

Course aims
Our course is called Leaders of Innovation and Impact. This is why we tailor our program to shaping leaders of innovation processes that are able to recognize and deal with complex and ill-defined problems by co-creating solutions and realising change.
This year, our focus is on achieving this in times of crisis–when important decisions need to be made quickly, and under pressure. This course will draw on design thinking principles combined with more practical skill development such as communicating with stakeholders, pitching/storytelling and building a mindset for innovation and impact. You will get expert knowledge on these processes, after which you will be challenged to practically apply your knowledge during CuriousU as a means of a final case and presentation.
This case focuses on multidisciplinary work, allowing you to interact and work with people of different backgrounds and nationalities. This week provides you with the unique opportunity to apply your learning and inspire others at the same time.
During this course you will experience different, active, learning methods:
- Design thinking, (Science2Design4Society)
- Pitching and storytelling
- Workshops
- Interacting with stakeholders
- Inspirational talks from guest speakers
Course outcomes
These methods will help to guide you through the course. At the end of the course you are able to:
