Summer school: Design the Future

Do you enjoy designing things and thinking creatively? Are you keen to shape the future through design?

Design can be a great source of innovation, frustration and everything in between. It challenges us to blend our creative insights with our science-based analytical skills. Experienced designers work swiftly towards useful results. At University of Twente, we believe in innovative methods and multidisciplinary work. We focus on innovative and multidisciplinary design, design for behavior change and co-creation methods. In relation, in the Design the Future track, students will be informed about and work with a variety of methods and topics in the broad field of design, ranging from human centered design to designing for smart interactive products.

Example Topics for this course

  • Design for Behavior Change
  • Design for User Experience
  • Interaction Design
  • Human-Robot Interaction

Course aim

  • Applying knowledge and gaining hands-on experience to improve people’s experience with products and technology
  • Design a concept by evaluating the models and frameworks discussed throughout the course
  • Identify opportunities to influence product experience through design
  • Become a broader design engineer and develop your creative and science-based skills.
