Be that next change-innovator!
We live in an increasingly complex and globalised world, that faces multiple, connected and wicked challenges – eg. in the skewed distribution of wealth and power, growing ageing populations and the depletion of natural resources. At the same time, current developments in science and technology offer vast arrays of untapped opportunities. To be able to deal with the challenges we face and the opportunities we have, we need new ways of working that will allow us to create both effective and sustainable solutions.
This requires new skills and mind-sets as well as new combinations of skills. Therefore, in this course we will focus on how to creatively combine and select creative methods, tools and world views from different ‘traditional’ fields of study and explore their combined benefits. We will focus on how multiple disciplines can be used in an integrative way that can lead to successful transdisciplinary innovations.
Students from all fields who are interested in high-level critical and conceptual thinking and problem-solving practices are invited to this course. An important element of this course is to learn to work across and between disciplines by teaming students from different backgrounds up. We will work on real-world problems and there is room for self-initiated proposals.
