Newsletter enrolment 2018-2019

Important information and changes regarding re-enrolment, payment and tuition fees for the academic year 2018-2019.

1. STUDENT ACCOUNT

You have a student account from the University of Twente. It is important that you check the email from this account frequently, because we use this account as the means of communicating all information. This can be information about re-enrolment, de-enrolment, tuition fees, law changes et cetera. So please make sure that you check your UT-mail account regularly! If you prefer to use your own email account, please see to it that you forward the mail of the UT account to your own account.


2.  TRANSFER FROM UT BACHELOR TO UT MASTER

If you graduate for your Bachelor’s programme before 1 September and you want to start a Master’s programme at our university as of 1 September, please make an application in Studielink for this particular Master and arrange the payment of your tuition fee. After you are official graduated for the Bachelor, we will take care of your Master’s enrolment.

If you are not sure if you graduate before 1 September for your Bachelor’s programme, please make an unchanged re-enrolment in Studielink for this Bachelor and arrange the payment of your tuition fee. We will take care of your enrolment for the Master’s on a later moment and, if necessary, with retroactive effect by 1 September.

3. TUITION FEE

On the website you can find the amount of tuition fees for the academic year 2018-2019.

4. PRE-MASTER AMOUNT

On the website you can see what the pre-Master amount will be for your pre-Master’s programme.

5. PAYMENT TUITION FEES

There are several ways to pay your tuition fees:

1.     Payment by (digital) authorisation in five equal instalments or all at once

In Studielink it is possible to arrange the payment of your tuition fee. You can pay by digital authorisation if you have an European IBAN and your bank is connected to SEPA. If someone else is going to pay for you, he also should have European IBAN connected to SEPA AND his own DigiD.


If you meet the requirements necessary for paying your tuition fees by authorisation, but you are unable to use the digital authorisation in Studielink, please send an email to studentservices@utwente.nl. Do not forget to mention your student number in this email.

IBAN = International Bank Account Number: a bank account number to standardize international payments within Europe.

SEPA = Single Euro Payments Area: the area within Europe where you can make your payments in one way.

 2.     Single transfer
In Studielink you have to choose for the method of payment ‘other method of payment’. If you have chosen for a single transfer you have to transfer the complete amount. Please make use of one of your own transfer forms, attn. Universiteit Twente, stating your name, date of birth and student number.

The complete amount has to be credited to IBAN NL35ABNA0405335091 before 1 September 2018. Please pay attention to a processing time of two weeks into our account.

It is not permitted to come up with your own payment schedule.

3.     Exemption through certificate tuition fees paid

In Studielink you have to choose for a method of payment by ‘other method of payment’. If you are already  enrolled as a student at a Dutch university or institute of higher vocational education and you pay the statutory tuition fees, the University of Twente accept an original certificate of paid tuition fees. You can send  the original certification to us or hand it in at the desk of the Student Services.

6. PAYMENT AMOUNT PRE-MASTER

If you start with a new pre-Master in the academic year 2018-2019, than you have to pay the complete amount   before the start of your pre-Master’s programme. This is possible in Studielink.

If you re-enrol for the same pre-Master in the academic year 2018-2019 you don’t need to arrange payment because you already paid for this pre-Master at the start of the programme.
 

7. ADDRESS

You will receive mail from the University of Twente at your study address / mail address. You can change this address in Studielink. Your new study-address / mail address will appear in the information system Osiris of the University of Twente automatically.

8. BINDING RECOMMENDATION (BSA)

The University of Twente has a BSA for all Bachelor programmes. This means that you will not be able to continue your studies, if you have earned less than 45 EC (course credits) in your first year (standard and procedure for the Bachelor’s programme ATLAS is different).

Please note: it isn’t possible to re-enrol for a programme for which you have received a negative BSA!

BSA positive or postponed:

If you expect that you will obtain enough credits to get a positive BSA, please re-enrol in Studielink for the academic year 2017-2018! As soon as you have a positive BSA, we can re-enrol you on the condition that you have made a re-enrolment request in Studielink and have arranged the payment of your tuition.

BSA negative:

If you expect that you will not obtain enough credits and you will get a negative BSA for this academic year, please don’t re-enrol in Studielink for this programme!


Please note: make sure you arranged your re-enrolment before 1 September 2018!

9. NOT WISH TO RE- ENROL

If you do not wish or you are not permitted to re-enrol for the academic year 2018-2019, please let us know in Studielink as well. See the ‘step by step instruction – I do not wish to re-enrol’. After you clicked the button ‘No, I do not wish to re-enrol’ your enrolment will be terminated by law per 1 September 2018. We will cease sending you emails about re-enrolment.

10. STUDENT CARD AND DECLARATION OF ENROLMENT

If we have processed your re-enrolment and if you have your digital photo in Osiris student, as of 6 August 2018 you will receive your student card and two declarations of enrolment at your study address / mail address.

11. EXTRA DECLARATION OF ENROLMENT

If you wish an extra declaration of enrolment, next to the two declarations you will receive from the University of Twente automatically, click on the link.

12. CANCELATION OF ENROLMENT

You can withdraw or cancel your enrolment free of charge, before the start of the academic year. You can arrange this in Studielink before 1 September 2018. From 1 September 2018 it is not possible to de-enrol without any costs.
