Introduction
Always wanted to put on a performance, give a concert or organise a cultural festival? This year, Sports & Culture will make the Agora theatre hall in the Vrijhof available for a cultural activity organised by students or employees. A free evening where you can realise your long-cherished dream!
What's the idea?
You organise a (full evening) cultural activity. You are responsible for the content, production, organisation, promotion and financing of the performance. The performance is on 4 March 2026. During the day, the hall is at your disposal for preparation. In the preparatory phase, you will consult with the programmer and the technicians of the Vrijhof about the performance, what it will look like and what is needed for it. And you can discuss your promotion with our communications officer.
For whom?
Individuals or groups of performers consisting of UT students and/or staff, supplemented by a maximum of 25% external participants.
What do we offer?
You will have the Agora theatre auditorium at your disposal for an evening (or a good part of it) on Wednesday 4 March 2026 to give a performance, concert or something similar. This may be full-length (favourite!) but must last at least be 30 minutes. If several short performances will be chosen, they will be combined into one evening.
NB Do you still think 30 minutes is too long? For shorter performances, there is the option of joining the Apollo Open Stage. See ‘link’.
What can you expect in terms of support from Sports & Culture?
From Sports & Culture we support you not only with good advice but foremost by providing the hall and a technician free of charge. We will also use our communication channels to promote the evening. We do all this in kind, so there is no budget available.
What do we need from you?
Use our online application form. In addition to the necessary practical information, describe in a short project plan what you want to do, why you want to do it and how and with whom you plan to realise it. Also describe how you will finance your project. Please use the budget template for this purpose, which can be downloaded via the button.
What will we do with your application and when will you hear something?
A project team from Sports & Culture and student umbrella organisation Apollo will review and assess all applications. Within three weeks after the submission deadline of the plans, we will make a choice for one large, or several small proposals. Everyone who has submitted a plan will receive a response, positive or negative, from us via e-mail by 30 January at the latest. This e-mail will also describe what the follow-up will look like.
