The Coen brothers’ The Big Lebowski (1998) is an eccentric cult classic blending noir, comedy, and surrealism. Jeff Bridges stars as Jeff “The Dude” Lebowski, a laid-back bowler mistaken for a wealthy namesake who gets caught up in a bizarre kidnapping plot. Together with his unpredictable bowling buddies Walter (John Goodman) and Donny (Steve Buscemi), The Dude stumbles through a series of hilarious, hallucinatory misadventures filled with absurd dialogue, eccentric characters, and dreamlike sequences. Over time, the film has grown into a worldwide phenomenon, inspiring festivals, merchandise, and even a philosophy: Dudeism.
