Temporary closure of Sports Hall 2

Update 13-4-26: We expect the work on the ceiling to be completed during the weekend of April 25.

Following a recent inspection of the ceiling structure in Sports Hall 2, we have decided to temporarily close the hall with immediate effect. The inspection was carried out as part of ongoing renovation projects in the sports facilities, during which other halls were also assessed. During this process, potential safety risks were identified. We prioritize the safety of our users and staff and have therefore taken this precautionary measure.

We are aware that our users, including several sports associations, will experience inconvenience due to this situation. We are doing everything we can to take appropriate measures regarding planned activities, such as scheduled training sessions, competitions, and events. Stay informed by keeping an eye on the communication channels.

In the meantime, we are working hard on a safe and sustainable solution so that we can resume operations as soon as possible. If you have any questions, you can contact backoffice-sports@utwente.nl.
