Nordic Walking originated in Finland as a summer fitness programme for cross-country skiing, which is considered one of the world’s most demanding sports. Nordic walkers use more than just their shoulders and upper arms when walking: they also exercise their back, chest, and stomach muscles.
Also stress on the walker’s knees is reduced, making this an excellent sport for people with knee problems. The UT surroundings are ideal for this outdoor sport. Nordic Walking is a part of Company Sports and is organized for employees and is offered as an open session. The group meets on scheduled days and times in the central hall of the Sport Centre before each walk.
