Sport symposion

Row, row, row your boat…

…not gently down the stream, but as fast as you can! Rowing is a difficult sport: it requires a lot of technique to transfer the power of your arms and legs onto the unsteady waters. Furthermore you got to keep a very good balance, not only with your body, but also with your mind. This symposion focusses on the physical and mental aspects of rowing, but is also interesting for other team sports in its emphasis on psychology.

Dr. Kurt Jensen is a former and elite rower who developed some of the sports most revered evaluation and training methods. He is coach and technical adviser for the Danish Rowing Federation and associate professor at the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics of the University of Southern Denmark.

Dr. Rico Schuijers is a sport psychologist who supported many athletes from different sports to reach their goals during several Olympic Games.

Tuesday 13nd January, 19.30 - 21.00 hrs.

This programme is a coproduction of Studium Generale and student rowing association Euros.
