ZonMw has communicated its measures taken in the funding schemes as a reaction to the COVID-19 outbreak. Outlined in this news-item is the summary of measures taken. Please be aware that measures of ZonMw could be different from NWO.
ZonMw has implemented measures to elevate the workload and difficult working conditions of many researchers in the coming months. When you are currently in an ongoing grant application, you will always be contacted with the new deadlines; and these type of communications is official. Below you find an overview of all measures taken.
New rounds for grant applications will not open until 13 April. The situation will be reassessed in early April and a possible additional decision will follow.
The submission deadlines for all outstanding calls for funding with a submission date from 17 March until the end of April have been extended by two months. The submission dates will be adjusted as soon as possible. Keep an eye on the subsidy calendar for the up-to-date submission dates.
The deadline for progress and final reports has been extended by three months. Where necessary, a budget-neutral extension can be requested. If you have any questions about this, please contact the relevant program manager.
These measures do not apply to the NWO Talent Scheme, Rubicon and NWA subsidy rounds. The NWO measures apply to these programs.
All interview meetings from 17 March until the end of April are going to be cancelled and rescheduled at a time to be determined later. Assessment meetings regarding grant applications that have already been submitted will take place via Skype or by telephone. These meetings can only take place if the required quorum is met.
The measures mentioned above do not apply to the following programs:
- The deadline of 17 March 2020 for submitting grant applications for the call for the “Care Evaluation and Appropriate Use (ZE&GG)” research will be maintained.
- The deadline of 7 April 2020 for the submission within the call for funding for Promising Care, which is being carried out by the Healthcare Institute, will be maintained.
- The ZE&GG Inclusion Accelerator call will open as soon as possible.
Comparable with NWO, ZonMw will assess is additional measures are needed or if the existing measure will need to be extended. Keep a close eye on the websites and relevant pages.
