How do I get access to Research Professional?

If you are on campus, you can go to www.researchprofessional.com and start right away.
When you want to use RP outside of the UT, you have to create a profile while on campus. Once you have a profile, you can access RP wherever, whenever.
If you are hardly ever on campus, you can contact the administrator (researchprofessional@utwente.nl) and ask them to create a profile. Once you have a profile, you can access RP wherever, whenever.

Is there a way to download Onderzoek Nederland as a whole?

Yes, Onderzoek Nederland, as well as Research Europe and Research Fortnight are also available as download at https://www.researchprofessional.com/0/rr/news/archive.html or by going to www.researchprofessional.com - click news in the top menu - go to Europe – go to Latest issue, PDFs and Archive on the right side of your screen under the Research Europe logo.

I am unable to access the database with Eduroam

Sometimes you will encounter a login screen despite being connected with Eduroam. Please close your browser and try again in a new browser screen or another browser by typing www.researchprofessional.com in your address bar.

I am not able to register with my utwente email address

If you are using an email alias for your day to day mail, this address might not work. Try using a different email address (which still contains utwente.nl).

I am searching within (the discipline) “science & technology, maths and computing” and my search only returns 50 matches?

The database automatically searches for exact matches for the discipline, not all underlying fields. If you want to include these fields as well, click the edit button

and under advanced include also the narrower matches, not only the exact ones.

Then update and search again. Now your search will also include all underlying fields and return over 2000 funding opportunities.

I am not receiving any email alerts?

The emails from Research Professional might end up in your junk mail. To avoid this you can adjust your Spam Filter settings in Outlook.

Go to the Home tab

Expand Junk by clicking on it

Click Junk email options and opt for No automatic Filtering and then click OK

What is the difference between match all criteria / match any criteria?
And within disciplines Is any of, Is all of and Is not any of?

Match ANY / ALL criteria


Match ALL criteria: logical AND

This reduces the number of hits and is more focussed


Match ANY criteria: logical OR

Enlarges number of hits and is less specific
