The Industrial Leadership pillar includes funding for developing European industrial capabilities in Key Enabling Technologies (KETs). In a dedicated Communication, the European Commission identified KETs that strengthen the EU’s industrial and innovation capacity focusing on solving the societal challenges. The priority areas are:
- Micro- and nano-electronics
- Advanced materials
- Advanced manufacturing systems
A complementing document further explains why the above KETs have been identified as priority areas for improving European industrial competitiveness. A high-level expert group was also set up, to develop a common long-term strategy and action plan on each KET. The final (global) report of this group to the Commission can be found here.
Click on the links on the list above to learn more about what is presently known on each specific KET. Future work programmes will most likely be based on the roadmaps that have been designed by the European Technology Platforms, so keep those in check too.
The Industrial Leadership pillar will also include Access to Risk Finance.
