Grants from the European Research Council (ERC) support individual researchers of any nationality and age, who wish to pursue high-risk high-gain research in Europe. On March 13, an overview on rules of participation and insights on what makes an ERC grant application successful was given at the UT.
Dutch National Contact Point Doenja Koppejan (RVO) informed UT researchers on the type of grants, eligibility criteria and evaluation process. Complementing this information, tips and tricks on how to address an ERC application were given by Sonia García Blanco, UT ERC laureate.
This ERC info session was the first step in the yearly preparation scheme provided by the University of Twente, to researchers considering an ERC application. For those wishing to apply in 2018, the info session precedes an intensive ERC training session provided by the EU-Office and the Career Development Centre. This training is designed to go deep into proposal preparation (including working on research idea and CV), for those committed to applying in the coming ERC calls.
The next ERC training session is scheduled for June 27, 2017. Registration is now possible.
