Between 27 August (kick-off) and 29 October 2020, the University of Twente’s Technical Medical Centre, in collaboration with the World Trade Center Twente, will host more than 60 different knowledge and matchmaking events as part of ‘The 2020 TechMed Event’.

The events will highlight the latest developments in MedTech and their potential impact on society. Remke Burie, managing director of the TechMed Centre, explains: ‘This will be the second edition of the TechMed Event. This year, we will provide a fully online platform, highlighting the latest developments in research and innovation. The event will bring together all kinds of MedTech professionals: medical specialists, the business community, government, healthcare, knowledge institutions and financiers. We hope that this online event will enable new and existing partners to meet, encourage partnership and cooperation, and contribute to innovations in healthcare.’

27 August: Kick-off meeting

There will be five focus areas which the kick-off meeting on 27 August will provide more information about: 'Artificial Intelligence & Intelligent Imaging', 'Personalised eHealth’, 'Health Robotics', 'Nano Bio Tech' and 'Innovation meets Industry'.

Pre-sessions sessions: from August to October

Between the kick-off and the conference itself on 28 October, participants will be able to access the very extensive MedTech platform with workshops, keynotes and interesting programmes focusing on the five themes.

28 October: TechMed Congress (online)

On 28 October, the online TechMed Congress will begin, featuring leading national and international speakers. For example, Tom Oostrom, director of the Dutch Kidney Foundation, will talk about the impact of MedTech on our well-being: innovative solutions for healthcare challenges with real economic potential. And how can patients and citizens become involved in research and development in the MedTech sector? During the afternoon, participants will be able to choose between five parallel sessions concerning the five areas of interests.

29 October: B2B Matchmaking meetings (online)

The TechMed Event will conclude on October 29 with a Business to Business matchmaking programme, where the focus will be specifically on the supply chain for medical devices. You can visit the network page here.
