I've always had a deep interest in technology; since I was a child, I've been taking things apart to see how they work, and as I grew older I not only learned how to put them together again, but also how to build stuff myself ;-)
In my function as senior network engineer, I divide my time between two somewhat overlapping areas:
1) Design, management and low-level troubleshooting of the University network, and
2) Advice, assistance and participation in projects, both innovative and research oriented, where there's a relation with (wireless) networking/communication and/or processing metadata from such communication.
I have practical experience and affinity with IoT, sensor technology, software development, databases and GIS tooling. In general I'm a quick learner with good overall technical insight and good verbal & communication skills.
In my spare time, I'm interested in sustainable energy and like to practice a wide range of DIY activities.
