Assemblé helped us to end the year with a barbeque in the garden of the Primo house. And luckily it stayed dry.
Bring your friend lessons 20 & 22 June 2022
We often hear that there are friends or housemates who would like to join a class. Therefore we held a Bring Your Friend lesson and it was a great success. The whole week we had a full house and there was a lot of laughter and learning going on. Ballet turns out to be not as easy as it looks sometimes.

Active members activity: Hans van Manen show 22 May 2022
Next to the lessons, we try to do a lot of fun things with our members every year. Most of these activities are organised by our active members in a committee. With the first show and the first camp this year, we thought it was time to thank all active members with an outing. Therefore, we went with (almost) all active members to the Hans van Manen show in the Wilminktheatre. It was a beautiful show consisting of 3 dances. We enjoyed it very much!
Camp 20-22 May 2022
Besides the first dance show of the association, we also organised a camp for the first time this year. With a small group we went to a scouting building in Horn for the weekend. We went to Roermond for the day, had a colourful evening and made a campfire! To rest a bit on the last day, we went swimming.
Primo Ballerino Dance Show May 13th 2022

Costume evening 25 April 2022
Very busy with the preparations for our first show, the show committee Reverence, had made a plan for all the costumes. With all the members together we made a lot of costumes and accessories this evening.
Monthly drink 4 April 2022
Now that the lockdowns were over and the bars were open again, it was time for the monthly drink! This way we can chat outside of class and members have the chance to get to know members from other groups.
Assembly Christmas dinner 29 March 2022
Better late than never: the annual Christmas dinner! Assemblé had cooked a delicious 4 course dinner. We had a very nice evening with the performance of the Nutcracker of the National Ballet on the background.
Board interest lunch 18 March 2022
It was time to start the search for next year's board. The fourth board had made a nice lunch for the members who were interested or who wanted to know more about the board of our association.
Inspiration evening: Talent on the move 14 March 2022
Our members could attend a free performance by students of the Scapino Ballet that was held in the Vrijhof. We saw some beautiful dances, with impressive choreography by the students themselves.
Apollo dance show 11 & 12 March 2022

General Members Meeting 1 March 2022
During the sixth GMM the fourth board presented the state of affairs. The board also asked the members what they thought of the idea of organising an Active Members' Outing, this was approved with full conviction!
Group activities
Due to the Corona situation of the past two years, the members have not been able to see each other much, especially not outside the lessons. The focus of this year was therefore to strengthen the members' bond. To do this, we wanted to start with the individual groups. Each group chose an activity to do together. The Advanced group went to an Escape Room, Intermediate went bowling, and the Beginners went Glow in the dark Mini Golfing. It was a lot of fun! And fortunately the members of the Advanced group escaped, otherwise we would have had a problem for the shows ;)
Dies Natalis Pub Quiz 17 January 2022
The association already exists 3 years! Just out of lockdown we celebrated with a pub quiz in the Global Lounge. Who has the most knowledge about ballet and the association? It didn't surprise us that this is one of the founders of Primo Ballerino: Imre!
Assembly Cocktail evening 11 January 2022
Despite the Corona lockdown we still had a great evening! Assemblé had made packages with all the ingredients we needed for 2 different cocktails. We sat together in small groups and were able to video call with the other groups. The cocktails were very good!
Committee market 25 & 27 October 2021
Every year we look for new members for our committees. This year we even had two new committees: the Show committee and the Camp committee to organise our own show and camp. Our cake committee, Plié, had baked delicious cakes and we received many new applications!
New members dinner 19 October 2021
To let the new members get to know each other and to tell them a bit more about the association, the board has organised a New Members Diner. With homemade burritos and a delicious dessert, we sat down in the Global Lounge to get to know each other.
Movie night 12 October 2021
The first real activity of the new year: a movie night! We watched Dirty Dancing together. Beforehand, there was a potluck dinner, where everyone brought their own food to share. It was a very pleasant evening with old and new members.
ALV 5 October 2021
The sixth general assembly could again physically take place in the Amphi theatre! During this meeting, the third board, consisting of Susan, Lynn, Lisanne and Rosan, was discharged and the fourth board, consisting of Sigri, Mirjam and Merel, was discharged.
Open lessons - 6 - 13 September 2021
The academic year has started again and so have the ballet classes! We kicked off the year with the open classes, so non-members could also take a look. A lot of people were interested and so we recruited a lot of new members who are eager to practice ballet and participate in all our fun activities!
Premiere Apollo dance show - 3rd of September 2021
Because the Apollo Dance Show could not continue in its normal form this year and was filmed by a professional crew, a premiere was organised! We all put on our most beautiful gala clothes and watched the magnificent film together. It was a very nice evening and we are very impressed by the dance show committee who, despite corona, managed to put together such a wonderful evening!
Kick-In - 25th of August to 2nd of September 2021
This was the second Kick-In that Primo got to be a part of and it was definitely a success! At both the opening market and the culture day (the Apollo festival), many new students were interested in the association: some because they already have years of ballet experience and others because they want to try something new. Both great fun and great reasons to become a member! The workshops given by members of the advanced group were also very popular.
Picnic - 7th of July 2021
Because there were so few activities that could actually take place last year, we felt that it was necessary to carry out as many activities as possible that were planned. Thus, as the last activity before the summer holidays, we held a small picnic! It was a very convivial atmosphere: everyone was almost done with the academic year and was looking forward to the holiday. During dinner, we ended the year together. On to a great new year full of great activities, fun, and ballet!
End-of-year barbecue by Assemblé - 3rd of July 2021
After all the dancers had their dance filmed for the Apollo dance show, it was time to chat at the end-of-year barbecue. It was a pleasant gathering and everyone was still enjoying and talking about the spectacular performances we had given that day.
Apollo dance show - 3rd of July 2021
Of course Primo Ballerino was also present at the annual Apollo dance show. A little different than previous years: this time the dance show was filmed by a professional crew instead of the usual live performance that all dance associations worked on together. This certainly did not spoil the fun! All three groups of Primo presented a beautiful dance: the beginner group danced their Harry Potter dance with wands in their hands, the dancers of the intermediate group each portrayed a Disney princess and had their own solo, and the members of the advanced group danced their interpretation of "The Greatest Showman" using chairs! The whole dance show can be watched back on the Apollo YouTube channel. We hope to be there again next year!
Baking cake without a recipe by Plié - 27th of May 2021
After the news that we could finally get rid of the online activities and meet in real life again, the Plié immediately started preparing their next activity: baking a cake without having the whole recipe! It sounds almost impossible, but by working together you can get through anything. Each group of bakers received a small part of the recipe and had to communicate it to the other groups. So it became a cake-baking-cooperation game! The best part: everyone had a delicious cake to eat while chatting about the activity afterwards.
Scavenger hunt by Assemblé - 11th of May 2021
The Assemblé activities committee organised this fun scavenger hunt that went all over the campus! The participants were divided into groups so that, despite corona, an IRL activity could take place, which of course made everyone extra eager to participate and win. After a whole evening of puzzling, walking around and puzzling even more, all the teams reached the end point at the same time! Apparently, cooperation was the power behind winning the scavenger hunt. It was an exhausting, but certainly fun activity and especially great that we could all do something together again!
Online Escape Room with Assemblé - 23rd of March 2021
During the super long lockdown the Assemblé organised a really fun online Escape Room! We were divided into several teams in which we needed to find the solutions to all kinds of riddles. The setting of the Escape Room was quite an interesting stay at a Dutch camping. The first place was for Kimberly, Wibrich and Nikki with an impressive time of 56 minutes. They each won a lovely make-it-at-home ice tea set! It was really fun to see each other and the escape room was quite challenging!
Pizza evening + board interest drink - 11th of March 2021
During this evening members who joined were provided with free pizza and a drink! After some ‘gezelligheid’, a presentation about being a board was given and some members showed interest in becoming board in the coming year. It was a fun, laid-back evening with delicious food!
General members meeting - 2nd of March 2021
Due to corona the fifth GMM had to be held completely online. The third board’s progress concerning their policy was checked by the GMM and afterwards we played some online games which was a lot of fun!
Online Celebration of Dies Natalis with painting workshop - 9th of February 2021
To celebrate the birthday of S.V.K.B. Primo Ballerino, we organised an online painting workshop. We delivered painting supplies to everyone who needed them and followed an online tutorial. The results were stunning and we had a lot of fun painting!
New Years Dinner - 7th of January 2021
Every year the Assemblé, with help from the Plié, organises an amazing Christmas dinner with 3 courses. This year the dinner had to be online, unfortunately. The board helped the Asssemblé with cooking and delivering the food to everyone so the participating members could eat their Christmas dinner together online. Afterwards we played online games with each other. The activity was a lot of fun and a lot of members joined which was amazing!
Online Game Night - 19th of November 2020
Before Corona, the board stimulated members to drink something in the Theatercafé after the lessons to improve integration among members. To keep this going in another style, the board organised a low-threshold online game night for members to join! It was a lot of fun to see the members connect aside from the lessons.
Committee market - 27th of October 2020
An online committee market was organised by the board, with a presentation about the various existing committees! It was fun to look back at what committees are already formed and how many active members the association has.
Pointe Shoe Workshop Try-Outs (2x) - 19th and 26th of October 2020
The Assemblé organised a pointe shoe workshop with two try-out lessons to see if there were enough people that wanted to join. It was a great success! Unfortunately learning to dance with pointe shoes is hard with the at-home lessons, so the workshop could not continue in the format we hoped.
Meet the Board Online Activity - 13th of October 2020
The Assemblé organised this activity as a means for members to meet the newly charged board. First we played a competitive game in alternating teams to get to know as many facts about each other as possible, and afterwards we did a quiz about the board members to test the members’ knowledge! It was a great opportunity for the members to get to know the board and each other a bit better, and vice versa.

Primo Ballerino Picnic – 7th of July
On this summer day, the Assemblé organised a lovely picnic for members to come together and enjoy some free food. It took place in the Witbreukspark, or the “Paradijs” (Paradise), and it felt like that for sure! The committee did a great job at bringing members together and arranging an awesome lunch for all members to enjoy.
Pie Baking Competition - 22 May 2020
The pie-baking committee Plié organised a super fun pie-baking competition! All members could join the activity and bake something of their own choice. At the end everyone voted for their favourite cake (based on looks only, as it was held online) and it turned out that the winning cake was baked by the experienced bakers of the Plié themselves! Hopefully during the next pie-baking competition we will have as much fun as we had during this one and we will also be allowed to taste each others’ cakes!
Assemblé Online Pubquiz - 7th of April
This was the first activity during the lockdown, but it was very successful! The Assemblé put a lot of effort into creating a beautiful and challenging pubquiz! Some of the subjects were ballet positions, theatre halls, and famous ballet songs. It tested our ballet knowledge while we got to know each other better!
Apollo dance show - 5th of March 2020
For our first official show we joined Apollo in their Dance Show. The theme was ‘Around the World’ and all our groups joined with one dance each. The atmosphere at the show was really great, it was a lot of fun to get ready with other dance associations and to perform together. The show was sold out really quickly and the Agora was really packed!

This was when the third ever GMM took place. The second board showed their progress concerning their policy and we had a fun evening together!
Dies Natalis dinner - 14th of January 2020
In celebration of the first Dies, we had dinner in ‘De Fusting’! For dessert we even had some fireworks to celebrate.
Christmas dinner - 26th of November 2019
Assemblé organised a self-made 5 course meal. It was a very nice evening with delicious food in ‘Diepzat’. Everyone was dressed in their fancy clothes and ‘Diepzat’ was decorated beautifully.
Committee market - 25th of November 2019
The first committee market of Primo Ballerino took place this day! Many new committee ideas were formed while enjoying some delicious pie!
Constitution drink - 18th of November 2019
We had our first constitution drink, quite some members showed up at ‘De Tap’. We ate cake and congratulated the board on their constitution. Afterwards some members stayed to have pizza together.
Pool night - 9 October 2019
With a new dancing year also come a lot of new activities! The first activity of this academic year started (of course) with food! After a common dinner we went pooling, learned the actual pool rules and practiced the most professional, optimal and especially most sexy pool posture! Most important: we all had a lot of fun and look forward to the next activity!

This is when the second GMM took place! We came together to look through the first board’s documents and ask questions, while enjoying some snacks and drinks. The first board, consisting of Imre, Tanja, and Wibrich got discharged and the second board, consisting of Imre and Wibrich got charged!
First open lesson - 16th of September 2019
The first open lessons of Primo Ballerino took place! Many interested people turned up and the lessons were great!
Kick-In - 21st to 29th of August 2019
This was the first Kick-In that Primo Ballerino got to be a part of, because the association had only existed for half a year! So it was super important to let everyone know that there was a ballet association and create association awareness. Therefore, we had a stall at the opening market as well as on the culture day (the Apollo festival), where we handed out homemade cotton candy! It was a great success. Members of the advanced group also gave workshops to do-groups who wanted to try ballet. Everyone had a good time and Primo was immediately more known!
Closing Barbecue - 28th of June 2019
To celebrate the academic and ballet year coming to an end, there was a barbecue. We were lucky with the weather, and this activity was a fun way to bond.
Movie night - 3rd of June 2019
There was a movie night where we ate together after the advanced lesson and watched the movie Ballerina. Everyone brought their own, home-made food for each other to enjoy. This was the first activity organised by the activity committee! Both members from the advanced group and the beginners joined!
General members meeting - 6th of May 2019
The first general members meeting of the association took place! It was a special moment as it was the first time the board’s proposed policy was discussed and the members came together to look through the documents!
First activity - 9th of April 2019
The first official Primo Ballerino activity was a lot of fun. We all brought food and played games in the Global Lounge. It was a good way to get to know each other better, as we had only seen each other during the lessons.
