Housing Lunch Meeting - Friday, March 9th 12:30 Ravelijn 2231

We know how difficult it is to get a nice place to live when you move to the Netherlands, especially if you're from abroad. We are also aware that lots of PhDs do not know about the Dutch Social Housing system (sociale huurwoningen), which, in short, provides cheaper rental homes than private brokers through governmental oversight and regulation.

Taking this into account, we invited Mr. Lucas Fransen from the social housing corporation Domijn (available in Enschede) to present an overview of the Dutch Social Housing system. In addition, the presentation will cover the steps required before getting a house, how to get a house and what you have to do after getting a house.

We would like to invite you to join this event and to kindly ask you to forward this message to the new PhD students of your group, since they are probably not yet on P-NUT list.

Date: Friday, March 9th
Time: 12:30
Venue: Ravelijn 2231

Survey: Sports and Culture

PhD candidates are often faced with finding a right work/life balance. The Sports and Cultural activities organized on Campus can help you with this. P-NUT wants to find out whether we should take representative action here and, if so, what actions to take. Help us in representing you by answering a few simple questions. This will help us to form a general idea about our common interests in these regards. Your opinion matters!!

Campus Tip of the Day!

Need to get a book, but think the library is too far? Well, do not worry,  after you have done the search for the book you want on the site of the library. You just need to click on the text "Available for request". You can then log in on the right hand side of the page and ask for the book to be collected at the service desk of your choice. You can then collect the book from the service desk, or if your group secretary is friendly enough, it may end up in your  mail-inbox. Once you are done with the book you can return it to the same service desk, the volume will make it back to the library without you ever having to step outside.
