The goal of this programme is to map out subterranean infrastructure in 3D, for which the campus is used as a living lab. The Facility Services department has been working on this project for some time and has already initiated a number of activities to expand technology, research and education on/around our campus.
Part of this programme, among other things, is the interdisciplinary HTHT module ‘SMART ways to get SMART cities smarter’. This module is being organized by CiT together with IT and Robotics. Moreover, a SMART Cities theme was part of the CuriousU summer course.
External pioneering partnerships are already in place with authorities and enterprises that deal with similar issues. Furthermore, we are working with the Twente Regional Training Centre and Stichting Arbeidsmarkt Geo on the development of a Utility Surveyor degree programme.
