University of Impact
Opening Academic Year 2016 - 2017

Douwe Bob, son of Simon Posthuma, known for his membership of the designer group The Fool, started playing piano at the age of 6, initially concentrating on classical music and jazz. He took up the guitar at age 14. As a singer he was inspired by country music from 1970s to 1980s.

In 2012, he participated in the Dutch show De beste singer-songwriter van Nederland. He played the songs Standing Here Helpless, Icarus, and in the finale, Multicoloured angels. In the finale, Dutch singer Tim Knol and his band played with him. He won the finals and his song "Multicoloured Angels" reached the 17th place in the weekly music chart Dutch Top 40.

“I love searching for extremes during a performance. It’s great to be able to silence a room with only a guitar and singing, and next getting the crowd to sing along to a louder band song. We always make sure our show is a party. Life’s too short for boring performances.”
