Elements of the Totality

The house-style of the UT comprises a totality which is made up of various elements. The totality and elements are not freely available but can be requested from the Traffic department in Marketing & Communication.

Colour palette

The colour palette of the house-style is characterised by a broad spectrum of colours, which provides plenty of variation. Every coloured section and element may use one colour from the palette. Exceptions to this are corporate publications which can only use black or white colour sections, and research institutes which use their own colour, logo and element.

Download the colour palette here.

TEMPLATES

Would you like to use the house-style for your presentation or report? We have created a number of templates for you. Can’t find the template that you need? Contact the Traffic department

Certificates

Would you like to finish a seminar, course, a section or master class by issuing participants with a certificate of participation? The Traffic department has developed a generic template for this purpose which you can use to create a certificate in the blink of an eye.

Which steps must you take in order to create certificates?

  1. Download the template
  2. Complete the pre-defined fields with relevant information and switch in ‘certificaat’ or ‘certificate’ for the Dutch or English variant.
  3. Save the completed certificate
  4. You can then print these certificates on pre-printed paper. These can be ordered via Traffic.

Letter paper template

To equip your letter paper in the style of the UT, you can work with a template. To do this, you must create a shortcut on your laptop or desktop so that you can open the template on it. How this works will be explained in the instructions.

Note: this only works on Windows machines!

Instructions

The shortcut to the template is on \\ad.utwente.nl\UT\Huisstijl. Copy this shortcut to a location on your PC/laptop (e.g. the desktop). When you double-click on the shortcut, the template opens and the input screen is shown. Please note! This link can only be opened via Internet Explorer.

First time opening template

Depending on the security settings (Macro security ‘High’ or ‘Medium’), the first time you open the template, a security warning may be given. Here, select the tick ‘Always trust macros from this source’ and then click on ‘Link macros’.

Note: If the macro security setting is on ‘Very High’, the template will not work. In this case, you must contact

Error message during log in?

Have you encountered an error message during log-in? This could be caused by the fact that you are already logged-in in the background with your m-nr and this doesn’t work for the design tool. This is easily resolved by opening an anonymous/private/incognito tab/screen in your browser. This option is given under the settings button at the top-right, on most browsers. In this anonymous screen, you are logged out of all UT systems and you can then log into the design tool. Once you have opened an anonymous tab, paste the following link to the design tool in the search bar.

If you have any questions, please contact: opmaaktool@utwente.nl.
