In all of these cases, the Alumni Office can do something for you!

Contacting Alumni

The Alumni Office offers several options for communicating with alumni. In whatever way you prefer, please keep in mind the following:

  • Give alumni ample notice of upcoming events. They are typically busy with their family and career, and may also live on the other side of the country. We recommend planning a contact moment at least 5 to 6 weeks before your event.
  • Note that the Alumni Office requires at least a 2 weeks lead time for sending out both post and e-mail mailings.
  • Think carefully about which group of alumni you wish to reach: are they from a particular program or faculty? Are they of a specific age group? Limited to specific regions in the Netherlands? National? International?
  • Our data concerning alumni is protected by strict privacy laws. In order to communicate with alumni you must have permission from the relevant study programme director. This permission is not required when submitting items in the alumni newsletter.
Post Mailings

Interested in reaching a large group of alumni by mail? Then you can submit your request to the Alumni Office via alumni@utwente.nl

The Alumni Office then provides the requested addresses to the University Post Office which will handle the post mailing for you.

In your request please include the following information:

  • Confirm that you have received permission from the relevant study programme director for contacting their affiliated graduates.
  • Brief description of the purpose and content of the mailing
  • Your contact details
  • Ofi billing number
  • Describe as clear as possible the target group for this mailing: study programme, faculty, alumni association membership, etc.
  • Would you also like to reach alumni outside of the Netherlands?
  • Should this mailing be personalized? If so please detail the personalization fields such as gender, etc.
  • When should the contact information be sent to the UT Post Office?
E-Mailing

Would you like to reach alumni via e-mail? You can include a news item about an event in our periodic alumni newsletter by submitting details to alumni@utwente.nl. Through the newsletter you can share information with over 30,000 alumni.

It is also possible for us to send a special message via e-mail to a specific segment of the alumni network. You can submit your request to the Alumni Office via alumni@utwente.nl.

The University provides all alumni with a life-long e-mail address which is used for mailings.

In your request please include the following information:

  • Confirm that you have received permission from the relevant study programme director for contacting their affiliated graduates.
  • Brief description of the purpose and content of your mailing
  • Your contact details
  • Describe as clearly as possible the target group for this mailing: study programme, faculty, alumni association membership, etc.

  • When would you like the mailing sent out?
