BRINGING THE UT CAMPUS TO AMSTERDAM: A JOINT BACHELOR MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Since September 2019 a tiny part of the UT campus has been located in Amsterdam. Our capital is the home for a joint bachelor Mechanical Engineering of University of Twente and Vrije Universiteit. This way, students study a ‘Twente program’, while still being able to stay at home in the Western part of The Netherlands. Except for two days each two weeks when they travel to Enschede to follow lectures and practicals at UT. What are the reasons for both universities to offer this program in Amsterdam and how does the curriculum look like? Is the DNA of University of Twente still present in this program? These and many more questions will be answered by prof.dr.ir. André de Boer during his lecture.

Prof.dr.ir. André de Boer studied Mechanical Engineering too (however, still on the UT campus). Later, he was involved in the same program at the UT as full professor and program director. Now he is working as advisor for the UT-VU BSc program Mechanical Engineering.
