DDOS ATTACKS: WHY SHOULD I CARE?

DDoS attacks seem to be ‘the next big thing’. But what is it, how to perform it and who can perform it? And, more important, how to solve it? Jair Santanna will give an interactive lecture answering all your questions on this important cyber security topic.

Researcher and lecturer Jair Santanna has a knack for giving lectures. In 2018 he won the Dutch Famelab competition, in which scientist are challenged to explain their research in a clear, concise and fun way within 3 minutes.  As a researcher, he is interested in Internet security, DDoS attack, and (big) data analysis.

Twente Alumni Lectures
This lecture is part of the Twente Alumni Lectures series, in which eight researchers visit eight Dutch cities. The researchers will be visiting Rotterdam, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Groningen, Zwolle, Deventer, Nijmegen en Eindhoven. All speakers strive to find solutions for the biggest global challenges in their research fields; whether it concerns new ways to store energy, needless injections, Alzheimer’s disease, reducing water scarcity, DDoS attacks or robots as our colleagues. By inspiring each other as one UT community, we will come closer to finding a solution. So join!
