TOM seminar The ins and outs of the Twente Education Model

TOM Seminar

Project-led and Student-driven education

Are you interested in redesigning your education adapted to the latest developments in society? Or do you want to know how project-led education looks like? The University of Twente invites people from outside the UT to the Seminar: ‘The ins and outs of TOM’ on 30 may 2017. This seminar about the Twente Education Model (TOM) may inspire you and shows how project-led and student driven education is arranged in the bachelor programmes of the University of Twente.

How did it start?

Our changing society asks for ‘T-shaped professionals’: graduates who know the depth of their field but are also capable of stepping off the beaten tracks, and apply their knowledge more broadly, in collaboration with other disciplines and society. This is why the UT developed the Twente Education Model (TOM). Students learn theory and skills in 15EC thematic modules. Our education promotes active learning, is project-led and student centered. From September 2013 all bachelor programmes are redesigned according to this new model, and last summer the first TOM students graduated.

What’s in for you?

Visit our seminar and find out all about our module structure, project-led education and implementation process of the educational innovation. Ask students, teachers and experts about their experiences and you will leave informed and inspired by this approach of educational design.
