Modern chemistry continues to transform our world. The Chemistry discipline at our University focuses on societal themes concerning environment and pollution, clean water, energy conservation, harvesting and storage, CO2 reduction, sustainable and smart materials as well as health.
Our impact stems from fundamental and applied research in Chemical Science and Engineering.
Scientists within these fields of expertise, as well as within other areas of our university, have a lively and fruitful interaction. Which is stimulated by our institutes: MESA+, TechMed and DSI.
The Chemistry discipline provides excellent education in the areas of Chemical Science and Engineering, Advanced Technology, Nanotechnology and Biomedical Engineering. It conducts world-class, societally relevant research. The high quality of the Chemistry discipline at the UT is shown by 2 ERC Advanced 7 Grants, 4 Vici's, 4 KNCV Gold Medal laureates and 29 additional Veni-Vidi and ERC grants, as well as many bilateral projects with the industry.
