It is that time of the year again! Back in the Netherlands the days are getting shorter and the temperature keeps dropping. Supermarkets have stocked up on pepernoten and chocolate letters and the discussion over which pepernoten taste best (chocolate-covered or not) has been held several times already. This can only mean one thing… Sinterklaas will be visiting the Netherlands!
As we all know how busy Sinterklaas is, alumna Thaïs Smeets (TU Delft) offered to host a Dutch Engineers Alumni Network (DEAN)* Sinterklaas event in Paris, for all alumni from the 4 Dutch technical universities. This gives you the opportunity to celebrate this truly Dutch tradition while catching up with fellow alumni in Paris.

This evening is part of the concept Event in a Box in which we help our alumni all over the world to host an informal alumni event. We have added a fun Sinterklaas competition to the box, which will allow you to hone your rhyming skills with this Dutch tradition. If you have a sweet tooth and would like to win the delicious prize, you can already bust out the old rhyme dictionary. Good luck!
We will make sure there are enough pepernoten, Taai Taai's and candy, but you will have to pay for your own drinks and dinner.
