UT alumni quickly find their way into the labour market and look back positively on their studies

Graduates of the University of Twente look back positively on their studies and generally find their place in the labour market quickly after graduation. They particularly value the skills they develop during their education and experience their studies as a strong foundation for their further careers. This is evident from the results of the National Alumni Survey (NAE) 2025, published today.

Many alumni say they would choose the same programme at the University of Twente again in hindsight. This percentage has remained consistently high over recent years and stands at 76 per cent in 2025. Only a small proportion of alumni indicate that they would rather have followed the same programme at another university. The results suggest that graduates are not only satisfied with their programme, but also look back positively on their choice for the University of Twente as a study environment.

Strong foundation in knowledge and skills

Alumni rate their master’s programme on average at 4.15 on a scale of 5, placing the University of Twente above the national average.

In particular, the development of skills is highly valued. Alumni rate their academic skills at 4.25 and their general skills at 3.96. Graduates are also positive about the content and coherence of the programmes. Many alumni experience their studies as a solid foundation for further personal and professional development.

Smooth transition into employment

For many graduates, the transition from study to work goes smoothly. Of the alumni, 94 per cent have paid employment and graduates find their first job within an average of 2.7 months. In addition, 95 per cent have had paid employment since graduation.

The results show that UT alumni are well prepared for the labour market and quickly find positions across a wide range of sectors and organisations.

Positive about career and development

Alumni are generally satisfied with their careers. They rate their current position at 4.0 and their career prospects at 3.79. Both scores are above the national average. This suggests that graduates continue to develop well after entering the labour market and feel confident about their future careers.
