Twente University Fund starts crowdfunding campaign for students in need

The Twente University Fund has launched a campaign through its crowdfunding platform steunutwente.nl to support students in financial distress from the Coronavirus situation. In the first two days, almost 10,000 euros was donated. The foundation will double the first ten thousand euros in gifts.

For many students, the corona crisis has a significant impact: not only do they have to continue their studies temporarily from home, many other activities such as a side job are also currently on hold. Some (international) students may experience difficulties in receiving their scholarship. Continuing financial troubles lead to severe stress and could cause psychologic problems. Existing government regulations do not always offer a solution and not in all cases, parents are ready to help.

Appeal to all

The University Fund calls on everyone who feels involved with the university and well-being of the students to contribute: alumni, (former) employees, students, foundations and companies, but also anyone else who would like to express their support.

Together with the University of Twente, the Foundation will ensure the money is being spent wisely.
