Nienke Boersma appointed as member of the Supervisory Board of the University of Twente

As of 1 October, Nienke Boersma is appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board of the University of Twente by the Minister of Education, Culture and Science. Her appointment will be until 30 September, 2023. Nienke Boersma will succeed Eef Bos, whose appointment will end. She will also succeed him in the Audit Committee of the Supervisory Board.

For this position in the Supervisory Board, IT knowledge and experience was required. Also holding a position of final responsibility for financial affairs in a large organization was an important condition.

Nienke Boersma is an alumnus of the UT. She obtained her master's degree in Applied Physics in 1997. Boersma started her career at Arthur D.Little as a strategy consultant in the telecom and internet industry, after which she completed her MBA at the IESE Business School in Barcelona. During her MBA, Nienke Boersma did an internship at Morgan Stanley in London and New York. After her time in Barcelona, Boersma started at ING Group as a management consultant, after which she held various management positions at NN-Group in the pension and claims business. For the last seven years she worked at Group Finance as Head of Payments & Reporting and as head of Service Centre Finance. She has also been an active member of the UT ambassador network for several years. As of 1 November, Boersma will continue her career as Director of Reporting at Achmea.
