2018 University of Twente fresher’s week

The University of Twente Kick-In event will take place from Wednesday 22 August until Thursday 30 August 2018

During this Freshers’ week, prospective students can become acquainted with all aspects of student life. The Kick-In is a great way to find out more about the university and the facilities on campus and is a perfect opportunity to discover the student city of Enschede.

Programme information

During the general introduction, you will get to known your fellow students, the campus, the cities of Enschede and Hengelo, and the various societies, clubs and associations at the university. The programme includes a sports day, a culture day, a large obstacle course, a concert and large-scale parties that will continue until the wee hours.

The general programme is split into two parts: the first part takes place from 22-26 August and the second part starts on the evening of the 29th of August and ends the next day. The time in between these programme components can be used to take part in your study association’s training programme.

Focus

This year, the organization will focus on the three areas outlined below. The first is sustainability: fewer plastic bottles are distributed (reductions are in the thousands), for example. Other sustainability topics are also discussed. The second is the Master’s degree programmes which will be given special focus as a group. This includes an even bigger networking day event, with more businesses, companies and a greater focus on career planning. There is also a walking tour of Kennispark Twente that allows participants to become acquainted with companies based in the Twente area. The last area is the open-air cinema, which will be located at Oude Markt this year for the first time. The organization is expecting a huge turnout!
