Ron Mazier, our current Director of Strategy & Policy will be appointed as Director Corporate Strategy & Accounts at Wageningen University & Research (WUR), as of 1 January 2018.
Ron started his career at the University of Twente in March 2009 as Director of the department of Strategy & Communication. Over the past 8 years, Ron was committed to many areas of our university. He developed the current department of ‘Strategy & Policy,’ which offers a wide range of support in formulating, shaping, monitoring, evaluating and updating the institutional strategy. Together with his team, Ron had a major supportive role in strategic developments, such as the Twente Educational Model, Vision 2020, DesignLab, the revision of the research organization (UT2020) and the internationalization of the UT. In addition to his regular position, he also temporarily fulfilled the role of Director of Finance in the last few months. Currently, he is also interim Secretary of the University.
In order to ensure continuity in the position of Director of Strategy & Policy, the Executive Board will deploy an external expert to fulfill this role temporarily. To fulfill the position of Secretary of the University, the Executive Board unreservedly continues the recruitment process. Until a final candidate has been appointed, an Acting Secretary of the University will be appointed, recruited internally.
