IIGCE 2017 Presentations

From 2-4 August, the Indonesia International Geothermal Convention and Exhibition (IIGCE) 2017(www.iigce.com) will be held. During this convention, several team members of GEOCAP will give a presentation on their research.

On the first day (August 2nd), Chris Hecker will present the research on 'Multi-Source Remote Sensing Data Analysis for Geothermal Targeting on Flores Island'. This study summarizes past studies on Flores Island, and the methodology and results of this study’s’ multi-spectral satellite remote sensing and geospatial techniques used to map geothermal terrain including its fumaroles.

On the second day (August 3rd), three presentations will take place. The first one is given by Joan Looijen on the research ‘A Life Cycle Assessment based Comparison of a Large and a Small Scale Geo-Thermal Electricity Production System’. In this study the environmental impacts of a large-scale GTE flash system (with an installed capacity of 110MW) is compared with a small-scale binary GTE system (the installed capacity is 500KW) using LCA, for the construction and operation stages.

The second presentation is about the research on ‘Simulating Ground Thermal Anomaly under Condition of Dense Vegetation Based on Lab and Field Measurements to Support Thermal Infrared Remote Sensing Techniques’ by Asep Saepuloh.

The last presentation will be given by Fiorenza Deon on the paper ‘Hydrothermal Alteration Characterization of Geothermal Fields in Indonesia by Rock Petrology and Modelling’. This study focuses on geothermal exploration based on fluid-rock geochemistry/geomechanics and aims to compile an overview on geochemical data-rock properties from important geothermal fields in Indonesia.
