De Pakkerij reopens after completion of safety measures

De Pakkerij, the shared building for student associations of the University of Twente in the centre of Enschede, has reopened with immediate effect. Since the closure last Thursday, the users of the building have worked swiftly to address the issues identified during a recent inspection concerning safety, hygiene and manageability.

All necessary measures have now been implemented. In addition, a comprehensive management plan has been established to ensure continued compliance with requirements relating to safety, health and environment (SHE) in the future. Clear agreements have also been made regarding responsibilities, supervision, maintenance and the use of the building.

Following completion of the measures, a new inspection was carried out. This inspection confirmed that De Pakkerij once again meets the required standards and can be used safely and responsibly.

The University of Twente expresses its appreciation for the efforts of the users of De Pakkerij. A great deal of work has been carried out in a short period of time to implement the necessary improvements and strengthen the situation in a structural way.

With the reopening, activities in De Pakkerij can now resume. The safety of users and visitors remains the primary consideration.
