Interactive workshop NXTGEN Hightech at OoCCT

On May 28th, we were visited by dr. Nuno Araújo da Cunha Gomes from NXTGEN Hightech where he hosted the interactive workshop "Building meaningful models". 

As part of the MSc course "Microphysiological Systems" at University of Twente, one external professional in the field of organ-on-chip is invited to speak about their expertise. This year we invited dr. Nuno Araújo da Cunha Gomes and he shared his expertise on structured development workflows for Organ-on-Chip (OoC) technologies. In his recently published paper, he draws inspiration from established engineering product development frameworks, where the approach is specifically tailored to meet the needs and complexities of OoC systems.

About the workshop

"Building meaningful models" - This interactive workshop introduces a "design-first" approach to OoC model development. Instead of treating standardization and technical requirements as an afterthought, we will show you how mapping them out early is the key for success. You will gain a practical mindset and an easy-to-follow framework focused entirely on the central research question you want to answer with your model. Together, we will walk through how to clearly define key components, map out required functional outputs and establish clear acceptance criteria to ensure your model directly delivers the answers you need. By the end of this session, you will walk away with a structured strategy to develop OoC models that are accurate, robust, reproducible, and compliant, perfectly positioned for the next phase of your application.
