Micronit: One of many high-tech business partners
Micronit is a specialist in microfluidics for life sciences applications. This MESA+-spinoff is just one of many examples of high-tech businesses making use of the facilities of the institute. Micronit uses equipment in the MESA+ Nanolab for non-daily tasks, such as working with silicon or specialised material analysis.
World leader in printing
‘It's partly thanks to the Twente knowledge on fluidics that Océ is world leader in printing’, stated the director of NWO-technology foundation STW in the FD (daily financial newspaper) in 2015. He was referring to the close collaboration between the University of Twente and Océ, a partnership that already spans more than fifteen years. For instance, physicists of the department of Physics of Fluids (MESA+), working together with Océ-Technologies, developed a method for measuring detailed speed data in flying inkjet droplets.
GLAM - Glass-Laser Multiplexed Biosensor
In the EU-funded project GLAM, MESA+ researchers team up with international companies and knowledge institutions to develop a novel label-free, ultra-sensitive photonic detection system, which will allow medical doctors to monitor key biomarkers in the clinical setting.
NanoLabNL
NanoLabNL is the Dutch national infrastructure network for nanotechnological research, offering open access facilities for scientists and businesses. The University of Twente/MESA+ chairs the NanoLabNL initiative, combining 5 locations in the Netherlands: Twente, Delft, Eindhoven, Groningen and Amsterdam. The network supports scientists at their research and supports businesses at improving or renewing their products/production process and/or developing new products.
