Admission UT bachelors

On this page you will find information on admission into the ME master's programme if you have finished a UT bachelor's degree.

Direct admission

You have direct admission into the Mechanical Engineering master's programme if you have finished the Mechanical Engineering bachelor’s programme at the UT (side note: this also applies if you have finished your ME BSc degree at the TU/e or TUD).

admission with pre-master

When your background study does not give you direct admission into the ME master’s programme, a pre-master’s programme can be offered if there is limited deficiency. This is the case for several technical UT bachelor programmes that are closely related to the ME bachelor’s programme. By completing the ME pre-master programme, you will overcome the deficiency and be prepared for the ME master’s programme. Admission is only possible if you pass all the prescribed courses. It is possible to follow the ME pre-master's programme as your minor.

The list below shows which UT bachelors are admissible to the ME master programme after following a standard pre-master. Also included are the specific requirements for each of those bachelors. The obligatory courses are shown in a table (the modules and their codes refer to the ME BSc programme), and how to subscribe is explained below that.

If you have completed a UT bachelor’s programme from another technical programme that is not listed here (e.g. Applied Mathematics or Technical Medicine) there are also possibilities to transfer to the ME master’s programme, however your pre-master programme will be more complicated and will not fit in the first two quartiles. For details about the ME pre-master’s programme contact the pre-Master Coordinator (premastercoordinator-et@utwente.nl).
