The potential number of female students for scientific/technical studies is growing*, but these girls do not by definition transfer to a technical further course of education. The Techniekmeiden (Technology Girls) project was set up in order to create a sense of urgency and to develop the ambition for getting potential students interested in our technical BSc programmes. In order to generate a sustainable result in the long term, we will need to look 'beyond' individual activities in order to come up with a gender-oriented policy.

*(2010/2011: of the total number of girls in their 6th year of pre-university education, 45% had followed courses with an emphasis on the sciences)
