Final contract design team new ITC build

On 14 June, 2018 the final contract for the design team of the new ITC build is awarded. The team consists of the architect, installation advisor and the advisor building physics. The following organizations will form this design team:

  • Architectenbureau Paul de Ruiter
  • Valstar Simonis (installation advisor)
  • Nelissen ingenieursbureau (advisor building physics)

More about Paul de Ruiter

The architectural firm Paul de Ruiter has been selected for the design team, because of the convincing vision on a sustainable and green building and on a stimulating environment for meetings and collaborations. All elements that match the identity of ITC.

Paul de Ruiter’s approach is multidisciplinary. For the design of the ITC building he will work together  with:

  • Studio Groen + Schild (interior architect)
  • Pieters Bouwtechniek (constructor)
  • Buroharro (landscape architect)
  • Kamphuisschaufeli (construction costs manager)

Paul de Ruiter realized some inspiring projects. Find here some relevant examples.

The installation advisor Valstar Simons

Valstar Simonis has been selected as a technical installation advisor. The presented vision was very appealing because of the attention for circular design and the desire to apply innovative techniques. Furthermore, the vision on SMART buildings has been concretized with earlier project experiences. Find examples on their website: https://www.valstar-simonis.nl/projecten.

Nelissen engineering company as the advisor for building physics

Nelissen has been selected as a building physics advisor. Nelissen will play an important role in advising on how to achieve the formulated BENG requirements, which means how to achieve a nearly zero-energy building. As of 2020 all new buildings must comply with the requirements of being a nearly zero-energy building. The formulated vision and the experience of Nelissen in this area are promising.

Next step in the designing process

The designing process starts with a sketch design before the summer break, followed by a preliminary design and then a final design. We expect the designing phase will take about a year.

Of course we will include your input during this process, by forming a design team with the above mentioned parties together with a representation of staff and student members of ITC and our project manager from Campus & Facility Management (Sander Scheltens).
