Questions & answers Hogekamp and Hogekamp Square

  • When will the building Hogekamp be finished?

On 10 July 2018 the Hogekamp building will be available for Camelot to start renting the studios. The U Parkhotel will open in February 2019.
In the meantime, the preparations for the renovation of the tower next to Hogekamp started, which will be ready in June 2019.

  • How many parking places will be available?

Behind Hogekamp 240 places for parking will be realized. There is also a parking area behind High Tech Factory, especially for the employees of HTF and their visitors and behind the Vrijhof. Including parking areas in front of the hotel for disabled visitors.

  • The parking area behind High Tech Factory is closer to the student studios in the Hogekamp building than the parking area behind the Hogekamp. How can it be prevented that residents of the studios in Hogekamp occupy the parking spaces for HTF?

We will have to see how this works out in real time. If necessary the project managers of Campus & Facility Management will think about possible solutions to keep enough space for the employees and visitors of HTF to be able to park as close as possible.

  • Where can our employees park their cars ?

Preferable on P Vrijhof and P behind HTF but also P behind Hogekamp.
The same applies to guests and visitors of HTF tenants.
In time we will find out if P usage fits and if a small number of Parking places should be reserved for guests of HTF tenants.

  • What will happen in the coming period and where are the moments that have an impact on well-being / noise / vibration nuisance?

There will be building activities around the Hogekamp tower and the Hogekamp Square until December 2019. To minimize inconvenience the project managers of Campus & Facility Management will make agreements with the constructors and with the employees of High Tech Factory.   There will be a temporary road next to the building site of the Hogekamp.  A weekly schedule with the building activities will be available in the canteen of HTF, Vrijhof and later of Hogekamp as well.  An overview of the building activities in time can be found here.

  • What about accessibility, visibility and findability of the buildings around the Hogekamp Square?

There will be a map with walkways from parking areas to the buildings High Tech Factory, Hogekamp and Vrijhof. For High Tech Factory this map is already available, also to hand out to visitors and suppliers.
To  be able to access the parking area behind the Hogekamp passes are needed if you want to enter the campus from the backside of the campus, which is imaginable for instance for visitors or employees of High Tech Factory, if the parking space behind High Tech Factory is completely occupied.
Furthermore, entrance for the square with motorized vehicles is possible for suppliers and emergency services. The project managers will make agreements with U Parkhotel and High Tech Factory about the use of the intercom to give permission to enter the square.
To increase visibility of the High Tech Factory there is a possibility to place a landmark for instance. The project manager will think about possible designs.

  • Will the water in the pond be used in the buildings?

In order to be able to properly capture the rainwater, a helophyte filter has been included in the plan, which ensures a good and purified drainage of the water towards the pond. The water in the current pond at the Hogekamp will thus become more lively and also purified, for example, from polluting substances. This this emerging of new flora and fauna possible again.
