Change password, activate/reset password

This manual guides you in the steps to change, activate or reset your ICT account password. This is the password you use for all UT related ICT services like the UT Workstation, PC rooms, e-mail.

This manual contains two seperate parts: Change password and activate/reset password.

BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

This manual uses a consistent style of writing: references to text and buttons on screens are printed in italics, information that you have to enter yourself is printed in bold.

CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD

  • Surf to LISA Selfservice Portal
  • Click on Password change/active on the right bottom of the webpage and press the CLICK HERE button.
  • Click on Change Password 
  • Enter your User name (student number, including the letter "s" (e.g. s0123456), for employee (e.g. m0123456), for guest (e.g. x0123456))
  • Enter your Private e-mail (at Studielink (students) or webapp (employees) registerd private non-UT email adress).
  • Click on the empty box next to I am not a robot and follow the instructions of the reCAPTCHA if necessary.
  • Once the green tick has appeared, click Submit.

  • Enter a new password twice. Please note that it must comply with the specifications below.
  • Finally click on Submit.


Activate/reset password

  • Surf to LISA Selfservice Portal
  • Click on Password change/active on the right bottom of the webpage and press the CLICK HERE button.
  • Click on Reset Password 
  • Enter your User name (student number, including the letter "s" (e.g. s0123456), for employee (e.g. m0123456), for guest (e.g. x0123456))
  • Enter your Private e-mail (at Studielink (students) or webapp (employees) registerd private non-UT email adress).
  • Click on the empty box next to I am not a robot and follow the instructions of the reCAPTCHA if necessary.
  • Once the green tick has appeared, click Submit.

  • A message appears on the screen indicating that a temporary token has been sent to the private e-mail address. Click Continue.

  • Open a new tab in the web browser and go to the relevant private e-mail account (Gmail.com, Hotmail.com, Saxion.nl etc.).
  • View the UT token email you just received and copy the token code. (Note: the token is only valid for 10 minutes).

STEP 2: E-mail token (step 2 of 3)

  • Paste the newly copied token into the Reset token field.

STEP 3: CHANGE PASSWORD (Step 3 of 3)

  • Enter a new password twice. Please note that it must comply with the specifications below.
  • Finally click on Submit.


Attention: if you used the old password for your own devices (PC, notebook, tablet or smartphone) you have to set up the new password by yourself (e.g. mail, eduroam, vpn).

If you do not remember your password, you can change them yourself through LISA Self Service Portal. However this is only possible if you have registered a private e-mail address before you forget it, an e-mail will be sent to your private e-mail address. You can check this and or modify this if required through https://webapps.utwente.nl/adreswijziging.
